Last but definitely not least, a collaboration with the Goat.
For those unfamiliar with the Goat and the Occasional Others, the band consists of Andrew Reynolds, Kevin (Spanky) Long, Beagleoneism, Shane Heyl, and Atiba Jefferson. If you want to listen to a song from the Goat, hit up the skateboard mag. (Warning: the song contains some explicit lyrics)
A few months ago, the one of a kind contest known as the D-town Throwdown took place in front of the American Airlines Center in Downtown Dallas. Alliance Skate Park has again teamed up with the AAC and the Dallas Stars to bring us round two of this unique event on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Index team rider Sean Greene (and many more) will be there to defend his title!
This time around, Red Bull Skateboarding has invited Brandon Biebel, Ryan Sheckler, Zared Bassett, Joey Brezenski, and Ryan Decenzo to join the fun (skaters subject to availability)! The pros will be there to sign autographs, hang out, judge the competition, and dish out FREE Red Bull!
Qualifiers will be held at Southside Skatepark in Houston, Capital Skatepark in Round Rock, and Alliance Skatepark in Grand Prairie in late February.
Visit www.d-townthrowdown.com today for more details on how to compete, and for details on where to purchase your deeply discounted tickets to the Stars vs Kings game that will take place immediately after the competition!
The NBA All Star Game comes to DFW in less than two weeks. Along with tons of pro athletes, celebrities, and big time parties, Dallas will also host one of the biggest sneaker events in Texas.
Index will be there with some upcoming previews from a few of our hottest brands.

We’ve been so busy preparing for the holidays and opening our Mockingbird Station store that we almost forgot our own birthday. Believe it or not, Index Skateboard Supply turns 5 years old this month! Thanks to all our friends, family, and supporters for making it happen! We sincerely appreciate each and every one of you!!!
The fine folks at Envy Magazine offered this little write up in their November 2009 issue. Thanks for the support Envy!
New pics & clips of Evan, Harrison, and our newest team rider Rob Wilcox are up over on the team page.
Speaking of clips, the first ever fourduos video premiere is less than 2 weeks away! Check our events page for details on this FREE event. Expect to see a few Index riders in that one as well.
New pics of Auby, Sturgeon, and Jordan on their individual team pages.
I noticed a lot of profile pictures change this week on social networking sites. A buddy of mine informed me that it was doppelganger week. The week is almost over so I decided to kickoff the weekend by doing my own doppelgangers for some employees.
For those that don’t know this term, from wikipedia, the word “doppelganger” (in German) refers to any double or look-alike of a person.
Jonathan is…
They even skate with a pointy INDEX finger!
Harrison
Theotis Beasley
Harry Beasley or Theotis Boyland?
Jesus…
If you know him, then you know him. I’m not going to spoil anything….
Petrie, Petrow, or David…
..is himself! I thought his pics were rad, so enjoy!
Last but not least, me…

I was siked to find this! It’s Daniel Shimizu as Danzig!

CAN SKATE!
I love watching old skateboarding footage, especially local ones. This is in one of Mack Dafoe’s flicks about three or so years ago, starring good ol Jonathan Smith and super homie Stefan Lanemann.
I was told that these two were not stressed while filming. Just having some fun.
This pic at Allen is pretty old, but Jonathan can shred!
Check out the team dudes Jordan McCollough, Mack Dafoe, and Sean Greene have some fun in Dallas. Joining them in this adventure is our homies from Wisconsin, Sean Hathcock and Sean Borg.

This awesome email showed up in our mailbox the other day…
Lookin’ good Andrew!
I was already hyped on this months cover for Thrasher Magazine. That’s Chima Ferguson doing a switch back tail down San Francisco’s Clipper Hubba.
Of course, the content for this issue is rad! Seeing a Dethklok interview definitely made me more hyped than I already was.
Dethklok can be compared as a cartoon version of Spinal Tap. Hmm, let me try to clear this up in a non confusing way. Dethklok is band from an animated show called Metalocalypse, which airs on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The cartoon itself is hilarious. The show is filled with musical content performed from one of the masterminds of the show, Brendon Small. The music is really sick, I recommend it to all metal-heads! When the season is over, Brendon fine tunes the music from the episodes and has released two albums under Dethklok.
They have done two nationwide tours so far. I suggest that everyone should go to their concert next time they are in town. Metal-head or not, it is really, really, really fun!!
To end it with some skateboarding from this issue… a photo, of a photo, of another photo…
As I was flipping through channels this morning, I stumbled across this show on G4. G4 usually has some rad shows like Ninja Warrior, X-play, and so-on. I’m a nerd, I know. Unbeatable Banzuke is a gnarly Japanese show about strength and endurance. I remember one of my best friends, Stefan, telling me about this show and how it has a skateboarding course. The episodes I watched didn’t show the skateboarding course, but I was able to find it…
The quality isn’t super awesome, but it was the closest I could find.
The episodes I watched had this!
Gotta love Japan
I spotted this treasure while out to dinner with the wife last night.
If anyone “lost” an Index hoodie at Coady’s house, circa 2008, feel free to visit Bree at Mac’s in Colleyville to reclaim it.
Mark Gonzales skating inside of a museum in Germany to Coconut Records… If those vocals sound familiar it’s because that is Jason Schwartzman singing! You gotta love all the Wes Anderson movies that dude has been in… Do the math!
Well actually it is about the whole Railroad Complex that the city of Lewisville just built. If any of you all were at the park last Tuesday, you would have saw NBC 5’s channel crew. As I was skating the mini ramp, the filming crew decided to shoot the segment of the skatepark. Before I knew it, the camera dude points his camera to the mini ramp and said “hey man, do that again.” I’m not going to lie, I am not the type of personal that likes a lot of attention. You know, there are some people that will follow the camera people everywhere just to get a second of fame. I kinda just like to lay low. Once he asked me to skate again, I’m not going to be rude and tell him no. So I just did the same mini ramp line like before. He then states, “This will be on at 6:00″( or 5:30, I don’t remember) I guess it didn’t matter anyways because I was still at the park by that time.
The only skating stuff is in the first few seconds of the clip. Evan Owen’s shoes made the clip too. He had the Van’s Half-Cab’s on while rolling down the ramp. I guess it was cool to make it on the news. I think I’m more siked on the dogs! Literally, who can say no that dog that you’ll see below?
The reasons to watch this clip…
1. If you haven’t been or seen the Lewisville Skatepark, here is a sneak peek.
2. If you like dogs and want to own one, there are a ton of awesome dogs in this clip. Like, I want to own a dog now!!!
2.5 If you have a dog and skate, you can let your dog mingle with the other dogs while you can skate.
3. I’m in it and, you can make fun of my mini ramp skills!!!!
p.s. sorry about the advertisement before the clip. I hate it too, but there’s no way around it. ENJOY!
